We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Robert J. Pollet who passed away Tuesday, April 27th, with his family by his side.
Dr. Pollet was a founding Board member of the Foundation for Atlanta Veterans Education and Research, Inc. (formerly known as the Atlanta Research and Education Foundation, Inc.) and served as the President of the Board from July 17, 1989 through May 12, 2016. Dr. Pollet played an instrumental role in the success and growth of the Foundation.
In addition, Dr. Pollet was instrumental in building the research program during his 20 years as Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Development at the Atlanta VA. For those of you who had the privilege of working with him, you understood his passion for research, clinical and teaching. His gentle demeanor, sense of humor and quiet leadership style were hallmarks of his tenure.
The Atlanta VAHCS and Emory University were tremendous benefactors during his tenure.
